Heather is absolutely amazing to work with. She had a listening ear to my Aimee's story and after telling her she incorporated so much spirit into he painting. Even though it was more difficult for her, she was able to use the picture I really wanted and make my Aimee beautiful on canvas. She captured her face and eyes and now I get to look at such a beautiful representation of her to remember her always. Pricing was very reasonable for her talent and her attitude through the whole process was a joy! Thank you Heather!

Aimee was commissioned by
Audrey Smith in March 2014.

Audrey's story really touched my heart. She saved Aimee years ago after Aimee was rescued from a puppy mill and had been used as a breeder dog. All her puppies had already been adopted into homes, and Aimee, the momma dog who had been through much, was still waiting for a home at the shelter... and then Audrey found her. Still, Audrey told me that Aimee was the one who saved her in so many ways. She said Aimee was always by her side through many difficult times and was always by her side. She described Aimee as "her everything, her best friend." Sadly, Aimee recently passed away from cancer. Audrey told me that this was the last photo taken of her right before she was diagnosed, and she remembers how happy Aimee was on this day.

The photo that Audrey chose was incredibly important to her, but was not the easiest photo to work with. It was an Instagram photo that had been blurred and enhanced, and she no longer had the original. However, I was able to lighten it up, decrease the contrast and recreate what detail was hard to see by referencing other photos of Aimee... and Audrey was thrilled with the outcome!
